FUN FOR A RAINY DAY

This is a useful book at a very moderate price, but when it comes to quality, we prefer the Horowitz Child's Treasury of Things-to-Do (Hart Publ. Co. -- see P. 368). The Estrin book is paper bound, rge pamphlet form, the illustrations are crude and seem dated, old-fashioned. The coverage is surprisingly extensive, -- fun with paper, knots, wire sculpture, table games, shadow pictures, magic, tricks with handkerchiefs, puzzles, soap carving, sketching, etc. There are a good many songs, too and some party ideas. The pages are overcrowded, and the appearance of the book is unattractive, but the parent in need of inspiration for rainy days will find it a goldmine of suggestions.
