KIRKUS REVIEW

Its rangy chattiness capturing a lot of the atmosphere of the West, this is a travelogue-scenic tour kind of book rather than a neat compiling of cowboy information. Chapter subjects move from rodeos to bulldogging to old Spanish cowboys to mustangers and ranching by airplane -- often waxing historical and anecdotal on the way. A spare time browsing item, but one full of good lore.
