THE REAL BOOK ABOUT SPIES

By

Publisher: Garden City

A familiar writing team that is especially good when at work on personalities, does a rather bang up job on the greats of espionage. Nathan Hale, Karl Shulmeister, Wilhelm Stieber, Mata Hari, the Churchill Club and Klaus Fuchs are some of the dozen or so agents and groups of agents who have gone to bat for country or for name- that the authors portray with zest and in a way that warns of spying's unglamourous side and the spy's often ignoble end. But there's plenty of thrill to offset the morals and John Pfiffner's drawings have a cloak and dagger air to them.
