KIRKUS REVIEW

The Flying Doctor Service essential to the undeveloped hard-to-reach sections of Australia has long been a vital life saving factor to the people of that region. This novel, based on the authentic work of the Service tells of the heroic deeds of Doctor Saxon and his young proteges- his brave crew of pilots, radio operators and his nurse. The plot centers on the mystery surrounding the young man retrieved from exposure and disease by the Service. As the puzzle falls into place and Doctor Saxon's assistant gains further inspiration for his work, we are given a full view of this frontier operation as well as a bird's-eye-view of the land down under.
