MAN ON A STRING

Cameraman Mike Keef, small time operator in Vietnam, is short on cash and hence takes on an assignment for a corrupt South Vietnamese Colonel -- to find and smuggle into Saigon a cache of American currency. Accompanying Mike to a remote community founded by a French patriarch for his extended Vietnamese family is a gentle ""son"" of the village who has his own reasons for delivering the money. Mike's new friend is killed and so is his mistress, but he survives -- under the surveillance of a female American colonel. Convincing locale but thin and overlong.
