KIRKUS REVIEW

In translation from the Italian by Isabel Quigly, this is a native's view of Venice, its history, its art through the centuries, its streets, bridges, canals, islands. The photographs by Ugo Mulas are in black and white and not very subtle color; the introduction is by Peggy Guggenheim; and it is a more lavish presentation than Mary McCarthy's Venice Observed some years ago. However, of only mediocre quality.
