Hylas and Pirra travel to Messenia and Lykonia to find Issi, Hylas’ sister, and retrieve the dagger of Koronos from the evil Crow army.

If Hylas is to succeed in his quest and fulfill the prophecy that promises the demise of the Crows, he will need help from all his friends, including Havoc the lioness, Spirit the dolphin, and Pirra’s falcon, Echo. Pirra travels with Havoc and Echo in search of Issi, while Hylas, determined to retrieve the dagger, allows himself to be captured by the rebels. Hylas continues to be haunted by his visions of ghosts and spirits, but the Angry Ones, with their fiery eyes, remain the most troubling apparitions. Hylas’ golden hair marks him a member of the Outsider caste in Lykonia while pale-skinned Pirra is a literal outsider, but they are determined to do all they can to save the local people from the terrible Crows. The richly detailed setting and complex characters set this series apart. The exploration of the unfamiliar culture of ancient Greece during the Bronze Age will entice history buffs, and romance, mysticism, and high-stakes adventure should satisfy even the most discerning readers.

A shining conclusion to a stunning series.
