This is the fourth book by this author on creative art methods (Sand Sculpturing, 1963). Step by step directions are provided for six paintings, each quite different is design and in the method of construction. The directions accompanied by photographs and color reproductions of the finished product are quite clear, and will introduce a number of new techniques to the art student. Despite the title and the author's warning that ""your paintings will not, and are not intended to, be copies,"" the book may encourage methodical readers with a tendency to imitate to try to create replicas of the originals, which is the antithesis of the concept of abstract art and free expression.
