KIRKUS REVIEW

The signposts here are a little rusty even if they are under the auspices of such famous name brands as Bloch, Bradbury, Clarke and even Edgar Rice Burroughs. This is a collection of relatively unknown short stories and the reason for their obscurity is plainly evident-- with the two exceptions of Hawthorne's Rappaccini's Daughter and Clarke's Castaway, these are second-rate sketches by writers who have blossomed elsewhere in the fantasy/sci-fi genre.
