ALPINE CONDO CROSS FIRE

Some years ago Homer Jones was convicted and sentenced to life for the murder of his pretty, promiscuous wife Belle. Now, however, Judge Doane--who handled the case--is sure that Homer is innocent: the convicted killer is released into Doane's custody, allowed to join the judge (and young wife China) in their plush Alpine Village condo. Also arriving at the condo: Judge Donne's niece Emmy, who's been researching the Jones case for CBS--and may be in danger from the real murderer. And soon, sure enough, the condo complex is troubled by murders and shootings. Are these connected to the old Jones case? Or are they perhaps linked to Emmy's bygone affair with lawyer Bar Slocumb--or his bygone affair with Doane's wife China? And what about enigmatic resident Mr. Manders (supposedly menacing) and Emmy's bossy sister Kate? A tedious tale awash in repetition, peppered with exclamation points, but totally lacking in vitality, suspense, or charm: for diehard Eberhart fans only.
