DAVID AND THE GIANT

Here told in verse is the story of David's childhood up to the point where he slays Goliath. The verse is competent but unexciting, in no way comparable to the inspiring original. And the illustrations by Fritz Siebel are both coarse and unappealing, using muddy colors and somewhat caricature-like figures. Despite the above mentioned weaknesses of this text, it may possibly fill a need in church and Sunday School libraries which do not have sufficient supplementary material for beginning readers.
