KIRKUS REVIEW

Mark East, back again in Bear River (Blood on the Snow) gives up all ideas of a vacation when he takes on a case involving the disappearance of a governess, the destruction of a little girl's clothes, and the shooting of her puppy. Realizing the pathological implications of the case, East excludes no one from his inquiry, works back to the past, and solves a psychiatric power. Substantial plotting -- with local trim -- for a tight tale.
