MARY STUART: Young Queen of Scots

A beautifully done biography of the glamorous Mary Queen of Scots, with very little about her early years in Scotland, and a great deal about the whole French interlude, in which she grew to maturity. A sympathetic picture of the little queen, of her first and lasting love for Francis, of her efforts to overcome the suspicion and dislike of the French queen, Catherine de Medicis. A vivid background of court life, with the various chateaux as settings. Let's hope there is a sequel, carrying on from the point of her return to Scotland.
