KIRKUS REVIEW

Excellent story of a group of high school students in a town in upper New York state. The central character is a girl brought up in an orphanage and given the opportunity to have at least one year in this high school. She has been happy in her ""home"" -- and is homesick and withdrawn in the new environment. She starts off on the wrong foot, makes tactical mistake after mistake, but finally realizes that human relations are a vital part of education and gets back into line. Good plot, incidents well handled, story well told.
