This is a first rate story for this in-between age. The east Coast Florida setting has been fully utilized, and the likable family- father, who is to be the owner of a small town's weekly paper, mother, a brother and two sisters, respectively 12, 10 and 5- have a happy, normal relationship. Sandy and Dorrit get over their hesitation about this new kind of life; they learn a good deal about getting out a newspaper and printing jobs on the side. They explore and uncover a mild mystery about a beachcomber and find ways of getting items of interest for the paper. There's a hurricane episode to lend excitement. A satisfactory story with regional values.
