VIDEO VENGEANCE

The most devious, cinematic mind in all of mysterydom is at it again, now with a tale so twisty that London private-eye John Samson (The Cords of Vanity, etc.) has to resolve it several times before the truth will out. He is first approached by parsimonious antique-dealer and weapons-specialist Frank Ruddick to prove that his ladylove Mary's first husband Colin, who supposedly died in a car crash, has reappeared only because she's suddenly inherited plenty from her auntie. In untangling Colin's ""death,"" Samson learns that he and Frank are half-brothers and that Colin, under the identity of a car-thief, took up with the wife of a Bath guest-house owner. Then Colin is truly murdered; Frank is charged; and the guest-house couple, Freddie and Maureen, lure sojourners into compromising situations, which Freddie then photographs. As the complications compound, Samson and his loyal secretary engineer a double-cross, which solves not one murder but two. The uninteresting Samson is once again surrounded by dodgy characters engaged in vile shenanigans.
