CONG OF METAMORIS

Young chief of the Lenni-Lenape, follower of Tecumseh, Metamoris loved a maiden named Wynoma. The story of their love is mixed in with the story of the Indians fighting their last stand battle to retain their land in the valley of the Wapinipay, and we follow Metamoris from 1805 when he speaks to the Delaware nation, through the decisive battle at Tippecanoe in 1811, when a white man saves him from death. The sentiments and style and content, for that matter, maintain the level of these chapter headings: ""A Happy Thought and a Tasty Brew-A Restful Swim and Bright Star's Squirrel Stew!"" ""Whut God Has Jined Together-"" ""A Man and His Destiny!"" Might as well be an eighth grade project--with illustrations to match--and skinny dips added.
