KIRKUS REVIEW

Another in a popular nature series, this takes the sprouting of seedlings, pods and berries, and the role of insects and birds in extending plant life -- and provides budding naturalists with suggestions for simple experiments. The pollenization processes need Helen Ludwig's black and white diagrams to clarify them, but in the main simple, direct language tells the story of seeds growing into flowers and food- and the uses man finds for both. These Selsam books have made a place for themselves.
