KIRKUS REVIEW

Tries to be a funny book -- and fails. Purports to be the diary of 60-year old Upjack, porter to an insurance firm, relating his adventures from the time his name appears on a winning ticket until he successfully escapes the wiles of several women, avenges his daughter's honor, and so on. Pass it up.
