There is more rhyme than reason in this story of a little girl's adventures in a tree. Granted that children enjoy tree climbing and that tree houses exercise a particular charm on the imagination, this awkwardly rhymed account of a little girl and her two magic friends never gets off the ground, no matter how high she climbs, how daring the risks she takes. She and the two imps who help her lack individuality and the action of the text does not warrant the length expended on it. Only in the account of a cat on a limb does the text really draw interest.
