KIRKUS REVIEW

Here is a story that starts out like just another might-be-true story, but that somehow makes its way into a ""must-have-been-true"" story -- a very different thing. For out of memory and experience, the author has woven a live picture of America 50 years ago, of life on a farm, when every member of the family shared responsibility, and of Miney, who was so real that she couldn't have been made up. A good tale.
