KIRKUS REVIEW

Such a beautiful, mellow round cheese was fit only for their king agreed the farmer hero and his wife. How the farmer wheels his offering in a barrow to the palace and how the swineherd, assorted travelers and palace menials deplete the truly superior cheese takes the reader on a charming journey with scenery brilliantly supplied by artist Joseph Low. A rushing stream, a palace door, a peasant's pride and a monarch's noblesse oblige unfold with bold imagery. A charming once-upon-a-time picture book temptingly presented.
