THE QUEEN OF TRENT

Pub Date: Oct. 18th, 1961

Life along the English canals is the general setting for an adventure tale of two discontented youngsters who stow away aboard the Queen of Trent with the help of the barge boy Ted Thripp, only to be put ashore by an angry Mr. Thripp. The children do not need the adult's warning and are picked up by an ominous boat manned by the mysterious Rikes. Ted, Nora and Simon then find more excitement than they bargained for as they unearth a secret plot and endanger their own safety. The story is quite English both in vocabulary and typography, but in general it is routine adventure.
