MRS. LORIMER'S FAMILY

A comfortable register of domestic and romantic circumstances as the sons and daughters (and their husbands and wives- children and Nannies) come to visit quiet Lucy Lorimer. And while Lucy broods and broodhens over her children- but does not meddle- Phill, who is restless, smashes up her car and almost breaks up her marriage; Alice has an emergency appendectomy, and Guy, who alone is unmarried, recovers from the heart- break of Iris by falling in love with Nesta Rowena Smellie, whose unfortunate name is matched by her background- Glasgov new money, not county. But all these near disasters have their happier outcome and Guy and Nesta Rowena agree to marry, their parents agree to the marriage and the family circle is complete and content..... The Scottish border, a D. E. Stevenson type tale, no dilect- but a pleasant burble. Rentals.
