KIRKUS REVIEW

An account of life on a Florida house-boat should be of immediate interest to the young reader. But when the narrator is a French Poodle with the verbal mannerisms of a sophisticated teen-ager, much of the initial flavor is sacrificed. Underlying Splash's account of the family, the television equipped craft and its fate during a hurricane, there is a consistent vulgarity reminiscent of much adult slick entertainment and in the end one feels that for all the salt, sand, and palms, one might just as well have stayed on Hollywood and Vine.
