KIRKUS REVIEW

Short stories some of which have appeared in The New Yorker and elsewhere. Stories of modern American middle class folk, weaklings whose very weaknesses are intensified by friction and conflict. More tender and sympathetic in the handling than his novel. The man can write, but to date his appeal is limited to a rather discriminating, somewhat ""literary"" audience.
