CONSUMER'S GUIDE TO FIGHTING BACK by Morris J. Bloomstein

CONSUMER'S GUIDE TO FIGHTING BACK

By

Pub Date: June 1st, 1976
Publisher: Dodd, Mead

All sorts of potential consumer problems are discussed here, and Bloomstein splices enough sample complaint letters into his text to satisfy all but the most chronic complainer. But this book is so poorly organized--appliances, furniture, tires and hearing aids are all lumped into the same chapter--that it's hard to find the answers to specific problems. The reader is buried in minutiae, and details that should have been dispatched in two sentences--like a description of the procedure for ""certified mail, return receipt requested""--drag on for pages. The author has turned what could have been a helpful guide into something that resembles a scrambled telephone directory.
