A JUG OF WINE

A wine cookbook that is different. While he goes virtually the whole gamut of courses,- appetizers- (for one who is almost violently anti-canapes, he offers a startling variety of tempting ones, and then urges the hostess to allow only three to a guest!) -- soup- fish- meat- game- poultry- vegetables -- salads- eggs and cheese- desserts; he has some ""shorts"" in the region of pasta; he omits breads, cookies, preserving and canning, as too feminine for his concern. There are lots of original ideas, a goodly number of recipes I'm planning to try, but I found myself annoyed by his recurrent references, complimentary as they were, to the Little Woman, and his exaggerated enthusiasm over his own achievements, as ""out of this world""- ""terrific""- and other cliches.
