A fantastic true spy story of World War II German espionage in Turkey, that came frighteningly close to success. The author, attache to the Nazi Embassy at Ankara (his chief, von Paper has contributed a postscript), was approached by the anglophobe valet of the British ambassador, known as ""Cicero"", who microfilmed and sold at a vast sum, many top . Allied documents, during the period 1943-44. The wrangling of the ministry in Berlin resulted in this proving waste effort, though they included such inestimably valuable information as the minutes of the Teheran conference, the details of ""Operation Overlord"" several months before the LET's hist Beach, etc. An unpalatable blonde secretary turned traitor and betrayed them to the British, lending a Mata Hari touch to the episode. Read as a story of espionage, it is revealing inside material, but the point of view seems still too Tectonic to be taken at face value.
