KIRKUS REVIEW

Her ""heart pounding,"" her ""mind whirling like a spinning top"" and both relatively unattached -- Jenifer leaves Kansas and a reporter's desk to assume her inheritance, a castle in Ireland, auld as anything. But how could a man three months dead have told her to come and where is his most recent Lordship and what of the insolent black Irish Flann and all those Geese (Irish patriots)? thus combining the dubious best of both possible worlds in what is termed a modern Gothic. In any case, a chrestomathie of cliches.
