KIRKUS REVIEW

Batherman has the perfect answer for people who ask, as they do here on the first page, ""What kind of dog is that?"" She tells them, ""He's an extraordinary dog! He always follows me; he is faithful. He listens to me; he is obedient. . . ."" And so on in the same pattern, as sure, childlike sketches show the dog being courageous, sophisticated (""He likes to eat with me""), unpredictable, etc., and his young mistress being consistently appreciative. By the time she's through she might have you convinced that her floppy, nondescript mutt is ""irresistible.
