A READER'S GUIDE TO GEOFFREY CHAUCER

This new addition to the Reader's Guide series has been written by a professor at Hunter College, the author of an earlier study of the Canterbury Tales. The opening section is biographical and presents Chaucer as a man of all seasons (diplomat, official, humanist) but the major body of the work appraises all of Chaucer's writing in terms of its cultural, historical and literary ambience.
