KIRKUS REVIEW

One of the best of the Susannah books, although the title is misleading, since there is not a horse in the story (or not one that would count). The Mounties are incidental, though they arrive at the proper moment. The story itself has to do with Sue's adventures in a Canadian island household, where she has ignominiously been shipped while her parents went West. She wins through to leadership.
