KIRKUS REVIEW

..........into the city streets where many things catch my eye in a kaleidoscope of action. Boys and girls playing on the sidewalks, traffic and fire engines whizzing by, harbor lights, a park in the spring, street vendors selling watermelons -- and all the signs of the seasons a city child notices in a place where nature is hardly at her best. The images fly in the tempo of free association and the general effect captures the speed and excitement of city living. Colorful illustrations by Leonard Kessler are child-like in simplicity stressing one or two written images. The urban members of this audience are sure to have more ideas to contribute while their country counterparts will better understand how life dashes by in the big city.
