KIRKUS REVIEW

Desmond Shannon, succinctly wasting no time or sympathy over a new client, Gresson, whose Connecticut house is haunted, whose servants are frightened away, and whose home is later the scene for the murder of Reginald Narrin, head of the company for which Gresson works. All those who hated Narrin, both personally and professionally, give Shannon a wide scope of suspicion until he proves that the haunting and the murder derive from the same source of fraud and blackmail. Competent.
