In the same format as Livingston's collections about fathers and mothers, a useful group of 18 poems, most of them written for this anthology by familiar poets--Morrison, Clifton, McCord, Kennedy, Worth, etc.--who, here, temper the stereotypical (hearing aids, knitting) with modern images (a new grandmother needing a special name, a traveling businesswoman). The brief poems are set in attractive, realistic soft-pencil illustrations. Not outstanding, but serviceable.
