KIRKUS REVIEW

Good homesteading story of Wyoming cattle country, and of the bitter war between cattle men and sheep men. A young widow with her little family and with the old sheep herder had come back to the place the dead father had urged them to seek out -- only to find the cattle men strongly entrenched. School proved a bitter disappointment, for the cattlemen's children turned against the sheep wagon family. War waged against children and a widow proved its own defeat. Well told.
