DEAR DEAD DAYS

By

Pub Date: Dec. 1st, 1972

This year's get-together displays stories with a pre-1945 setting -- only one of them, Bill Pronzini's easy riding ""Decision"" was written in the '70's -- and there's almost not a contributor that you won't know. You'll find Helen McCloy's dressy first story; an old John Dickson Cart; a fine Lillian de la Torre reprise of a 1969 assize revaluated; the actual editor, that's Edward Hoch, features his Jack the Ripper variant while Landru appears across the ocean; there's a long excerpt from Ambler's Coffin for Dimitrios; and a parody of Philo Vance to pair off with Robert Fish's Schlock Homes.... All chosen for diversification with few that are really choice.
