KIRKUS REVIEW

The kidnapping of beautiful, rich, and deaf Tracy McClelland on shipboard off the coast of Florida rallies McClelland pere. local police talent, and a noble swain to the rescue, in this simpleminded adventure-mystery. A murder bullet blast restores Tracy's hearing and reveals the cause of childhood deafness, but there's no on-the-spot rejoicing, since Tracy is at the time recovering from a head blow, and hearing hostile footsteps thudding to her cabin on the high seas. With the dreadful ingenuity of Lois Lane, Tracy signals the pursuers. Our gal Tracy plus a suspect easily spotted in the first few chapters. Here no evil: here no mystery.
