ACADEMY SUMMER

Surely life had more to offer than the prospects which lay before Leslie Wilding after high school graduation Marriage to Ben, a man she didn't love, and teaching music were clearly on her horizon. Then, a ray of undr sunshine, a summer scholarship at Chanson, one of the finest music academies! Among the abundance of talent at Chanson Leslie recognizes the importance of hard work and training, but she is deterred for a time by her serious nature. Romantic ups and downs culminate with a final break with Ben and the promise of a bright future with a student musician, Johnny. Leslie's beautiful singing performance at the final recital results in a second summer scholarship and brings her untold joy. Life in a serious environment among teenage girls caught between childhood and adult aspirations forms the basis for an appealing girl's story.
