KATIE AND NAN

Given a child of this age group with the hindsight, the detachment, and the sympathy to find the antics of a 4 year old and a 6 year old quaint and entertaining, this book will provide some delightful moments. The descriptions of the two slightly rambunctious little girls at home, at school, and at play, together and with their friends, and concerted in war against their landlady, are real and comic. Browsing mothers will get some laughs but 8 to 11 year olds who identify. age as a status symbol may snoot it and contemporaries of Katie and Nan lack the sophistication to get the point. Translated from the Swedish.
