KIRKUS REVIEW

Cathy Townsend wanted desperately to ride well but fear held her back. Then when she fell with a horse who broke his leg, her fear became panic. But the arrival of Duet, an old skewbald pony from Aunt Myla Lee was a perfect antidote to insecurity. Cathy mastered riding and when the time came to return Duet to her aunt, Cathy overcame her selfish desire to keep the horse, so that another fearful child might become a skillful rider. The junior jodhpur set will enjoy the happy ending with the arrival of the seven year old horse which Duet sired.
