MORE GREAT TRUE ADVENTURES

A successor to the 1955 omnium gatherum in which that ubiquitous mono-traveloguist and his son highlight great moments of discovery- and history in general- from various established works. There are sections from Stanley's autobiography; from Carlyle's French Revolution on Charlotte Corday; Columbus' voyage to the new world, and Darwin's on the Beagle; the classic Thierry on the Norman Conquest and John Paul Jones on a naval encounter during the Revolution; etc., etc. Almost all of the material is familiar, but then pere and fils address an undemanding, radio-de audience.
