SPRING IN THE AIR

Small town Texas landscape architect Sudie Emerson gets home from college, wants to start her own gardening outfit, joins another one and after quarrels with its young boss, finally gets engaged to him. That's the main stem of this shrubbery romance. Offshoots- Sudie shakes dull Frank whom her conservative grandfather thinks she ought to marry: the fight with her young boss Warren is abated in the success they both have with rich Mrs. Wellington's estate. There is a fair amount of arboreal lore for the career minded. For the general reader, the story is as stiff and patterned as an old branch, but there are the driftwood collectors.
