While not actually a new idea, it is surely the most comprehensive and effective guide for the shopper that I have seen. Country by country- alphabetically arranged- is presented with the merchandise characteristic and vital to that country, places to purchase each type of goods, something of scale and range of prices, and emphasis on quality. Inevitably one seeks out known dealers in attempting to characterize and judge the application to one's own experience. This book rated well with what I found to be true in the places where I'd made successful purchases.
