In spite of the Brownie title, this is a business-like, professional, valuable approach to Job finding-and-keeping for the housewife serious about an extra-kitchen career. The authors do not dwell at any length on the mechanics of child and home management, assuming a certain ingeniousness and courage on the part of the reader. But one dictum from the authors is worth several chapters of cosier volumes: when overwhelmed at home the working woman should ""choose people over things."" The bulk of the book is concerned with specifics of the Job problem--how, where, some Why's, and of course, what. Plenty of details on information available, procedures, attitudes appropriate, plus some up-to-date matters on educational needs and opportunities. A first class handbook for the restless housewife.
