KIRKUS REVIEW

On the slender thread of the story of Deborah in Judges 4-6, Nathaniel Weinreb has reconstructed another segment of Old Testament history and character. In the tale of the Dael and Deborah, who was thought a sorceress by their captives, the Canaanites, there is a sense of immediacy as they lead their people to victory, and Weinreb's work reproduces an ancient way of life with a sense of authenticity.
