KIRKUS REVIEW

With the help of friends and neighbors who accumulate as his snowball achieves tall-tale dimensions, Emmett not only creates a newsworthy event but demonstrates the pleasures of cooperation. Not even close to Shirley Hughes's warmth and subtlety--these lively, cartoonish illustrations have a few near-garish passages--but, still, an amusing, original story: a promising debut for this new team.
