KIRKUS REVIEW

This is the second collection of poems by the vital young American who in 1958 won the Lamont Poetry Prize for his The Night of the Hummer, ""Reckless vigor"" and ""loose clusters of imagery"" were two of the critical phrases applied to the first book. They would serve almost equally well here, where, without the fresh, youthful quality of there is still a strange commingling of sensuousness, metaphysics and which never seems to wholly integrate. O'Gorman unquestionably has talent- and just as surely he has not completely mastered it- but he is still a poet to watch- hopefully.
