Not actually a story except that history itself can be story, written by Neil Swanson. He has told the story of the Battle of Baltimore, and the defence of Fort McHenry, which turned the tide of defeat in the War of 1812. The story is built around the figure of Sam Smith, appointed head of the Committee of Vigilance and Safety after the Blandenburg defeat exposed Baltimore to the fate of Washington. He improvised a force practically overnight, improvised too a strategy that worked, guessed right on the moves the British would make, and brought victory, where defeat had been sure.
